除了我们的校园为主, LAVC在线辅导提供的点对点辅导, Los Angeles Valley College is happy to offer its students online tutoring through NetTutor, the company selected by the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC) for the California Community Colleges (CCC) Online Education Initiative (OEI).

NetTutor提供什么类型的支持

  1. Ask NetTutor: Students connect with a real, live tutor at their moment of need. Sessions are one-on-one and private, and students receive the tutor’s full attention.
  2. NetTutor Question Drop-off: Students asynchronously submit a question and return later for tutor feedback. 问题在24小时内得到回答.

You can access NetTutor from an existing LAVC Canvas Course, students have access to most other subjects (e.g. English/Writing, ESL, FYE, Math, Statistics, Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Foreign Languages, Physics, etc). Check NetTutor's website 查看整个科目列表. Students must be enrolled in a class that utilizes Canvas in order to access these additional subjects, and beginning March 30, 2020, 学生也可以无限制地学习这些科目. English/Writing, ESL, FYE, Math, and Statistics tutors are available 24 hours a day, every day. Additionaly, NetTutor strives to provide comprehensive access to other subjects as well. Check NetTutor's schedule for availability.

The 生物科学资源与辅导中心 is located on the second floor of the Allied Health and Sciences Center (AHS 232) and under the direction of Professor Erika Brockman. The Tutorial and Resource Center is open approximately 20 hours per week and provides students with study materials such as models, microscopes and slides, 以及教师提供的补充材料. The EOPS/CARE辅导中心和计算机实验室 also has computers and a printer for EOPS/CARE students to work on their assignments independently and print them out for submission. Services also include Internet access for class projects and job search, 修改简历和求职信, 面试技巧.

The Los Angeles County Department of Health provides the Nursing Program here at Valley with a Tutoring/Mentoring Grant designed to assist students with success in the program and in passing the National Licensure Exam known as NCLEX-RN. It is a 2 year grant currently in its second renewal that provides over $180,000. All currently enrolled nursing students are eligible to participate in the programs offered such as Math tutoring, 护理实验室的临床技能模拟, clinical workshops where the students work in very small groups with an experienced clinical instructor to concentrate on proficiency and competency in providing and managing client care, test-taking and critical thinking workshops and tutoring sessions and a wonderful nursing review program designed to assist and evaluate the student's progress over their 2 years in the nursing program. 该基金每年资助两次免费的NCLEX复习课程.

TRiO 联邦政府资助的项目允许为160名学生提供服务吗. Upon acceptance into the program, students are encouraged to sign up for free tutoring services. These tutoring sessions are by appointment only and include some evening hours. Tutoring services are done on a one-to-one basis and include English, 数学和许多人文科学课程. 计算机实验室也可供TRiO的学生使用.
